In 2003, Katherine McDonald began to design her own collection of simple, fun women’s clothing. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, she was inspired by the classic, graceful surroundings of her southern home. Originally LulaKate was a locally based clothing company featuring skirts, tops, and belts for women. Since 2003 the company has evolved and has shifted focus to bridal and bridesmaid collections. LulaKate met with great success and in 2007 Katherine opened her flagship store on King Street in downtown Charleston. In 2011 LulaKate released their Bridal Alternative Collection nationwide. Throughout the years LulaKate dresses have become synonymous with chic, southern elegance that has continued to shine through the bridal gowns.
