Angela Nuran Shoes
While working as an instructor for Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Angela Nuran saw that brides and grooms needed specific help just to get through their first dance. She founded her wedding dance company in 1996 and utilized her artistic and graphic skills in a highly unusual, yet effective way, granting newlyweds “A Dance To Remember” that delighted everyone. The dance routine script she custom designed for each couple’s song made it faster and easier to learn than typical dance lessons.
Angela’s bond with her students resulted in invitations to countless weddings. At receptions, Angela saw brides remove their shoes, whether clearance or couture. Brides were in pain. Without the added height of shoes, gowns became too long. They were torn, trampled, and dragged over dirty floors. Brides with broken glass in their feet spent their wedding night in the ER instead of the bridal suite. Yet Angela was fine for hours wearing ballroom dance shoes. Once again she saw that brides needed specific help to get through the most important day of their life. They needed comfortable shoes!
She started selling white ballroom shoes, but many brides couldn’t balance in them, or didn’t like their toes extending over the short length of dance shoes, or weren’t thrilled with the styles. So Angela designed and manufactured her own line of hybrid shoes combining the elegance and fashion a bride expects with the comfort and quality a dancer requires. Angela Nuran Shoes are the culmination of this vision.
