The passion Heather brings to the bridal industry was developed early in her life through a love for sewing and a keen eye for fashion. After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in education, and a short time in the classroom, Heather decided to pursue a career in design and fashion. Her intimate knowledge of sewing, coupled with her taste and design ability, would serve her well as she opened Hayden Olivia Bridal in 2008. As a newcomer to the bridal industry, Heather immersed herself in both the business and design of the industry by working with some of the world’s leading bridal designers. Many of these designers became personal friends and mentors and helped Heather deepen her knowledge of the business of bridal fashion. The inspiration for Hayden Olivia stemmed from her own frustrating wedding dress experience. Heather aspired to bring the top designers to the Charlotte market, while giving brides the experience they deserve. The support of her husband, son Blane, and her daughter, Hayden Olivia, allowed her dream to become a reality. In Heather’s words, “All you need is love and a fabulous dress!”
Laura Harper | Master Consultant | Boutique Manager
Laura is our boutique manager and lead consultant. She comes to us from Columbus, Ohio where she spent the last several years as a designer for Abercrombie and Fitch. Laura attended DAAP, The University of Cincinnati’s award winning fashion design program. As a designer, she appreciates the true beauty of a couture gown from the fabric and construction to the way it makes a bride feel. As a previous bride, she understands the importance of having a knowledgeable consultant who can work one on one with each girl focusing on their individual style and needs. From the initial meeting when the bride walks off the elevator, Laura loves getting a sense of the bride’s personal style and transforming that into her wedding day look. She believes that every bride should look and feel like the finest version of themselves as they walk down the aisle. Laura ensures that each and every bride gets the attention she deserves from the first appointment to the final fitting.
Hayden Olivia Batt
Named after Hayden Olivia Batt, bits and pieces of the inspiration for our boutique stem from this sweet little girl. Weddings are about family and the passing of traditions from one generation to the next. It is my joy to share this dream with my family and pass along my love for sewing and fashion to my daughter Hayden Olivia. Although she is 3, she is already passionate about jewels and can be found wearing a wrist full of bracelets and several necklaces from her mother and grandmother’s jewelry box.
