Hayden Olivia Bridal has been in business for 17 years and served thousands of satisfied brides. We built the business on the foundation of serving our customers with an unmatched experience from when our brides enter the boutique to when they receive their dream gown. Over the years, there are so many stories of extreme customer service that you’ll never hear about. A few of our special moments include multiple gowns gifted to brides who lost parents during the process, a paid for round trip flight from NYC to Charlotte for a bride who needed a same day turn around to get her gown fitting and alterations done for her wedding two days later. There have been countless brides where we stepped in to help with in house alterations or used our relationships with a designer to pull off a miracle rush order to get the bride’s dress in time for her wedding.

Unfortunately, Hayden Olivia Bridal is just another small business the “FAKE NEWS” has caused irreparable harm and defamed by publishing a false news story without first seeking the facts and data to disprove the claims they received.

WSOC Channel 9 News and Erika Jackson didn’t do their journalistic duty. They went on a witch hunt without first seeking the facts and data from Hayden Olivia Bridal to see if the claims against the business are true. Where was WSOC Channel 9 News from June-November 2020 when the “Black Lives Matter” mural, painted on S. Tryon St. directly in front of Hayden Olivia Bridal, caused rocks being thrown through our 2nd story windows, people defecating in front of our door on multiple occasions, a police report being filed when a half-naked man entered the boutique and refused to leave and countless other issues that the business suffered as a result of the mural?

Since WSOC and Erika Jackson chose not to share the truth, we will provide the facts and data here so you know the real story.

Jason Stoogenke from WSOC Channel 9 News sent a generic email on January 29th about a consumer complaint and asked for a response. Erika Jackson reached out on Thursday, February 1st, stating several brides complained about not receiving their dresses or refunds and are panicking. On Friday, February 2nd, owner Heather Batt responded with the true statement published in the WSOC story. At no point did Erika Jackson follow up requesting documentation. Jessica Heimbroom (one of the brides in the news story) requested her dress in February 2024. Hayden Olivia Bridal communicated with her on January 16th and included a payment link to pay her remaining balance due to ship her gown to her. Jessica has an open balance and has since disputed her original deposit therefore her dress has not shipped.

Alyssa Bangert, the main bride in the WSOC news story, chose her dress on 1/19/23 and paid in full on 1/21/23. Her wedding date was 11/18/23, and her dress was set to be shipped in July. After many back and forth communications via email and rescheduled “first-look” dress fitting appointments on both sides, Alyssa chose to get her dress directly from the designer (Rivini). They charged her wholesale for the dress, which means she got her dress for ½ off. We shipped Alyssa the $585 veil she ordered and paid for initially, which was delivered on 9/26. After she disputed the charges for her dress and veil (which means the funds were pulled from our business account immediately) she received her veil for FREE! (Funny how none of this was included in the WSOC story.)

We shipped 8 gowns out last week and numerous veils over the last 2 weeks and have FEDEX tracking numbers for proof (obviously we can’t post the name or tracking number as it’s sensitive personal information of our brides.)

The Attorney General’s letter that was in reference to a bride’s complaint was responded to with documentation on February 1st, 2024, and all claims have been refuted.
