New York Bridal Market Recap

This week will kick off a recap of this year’s April New York Bridal Market. Designers and buyers meet in the big city twice a year to view and purchase the seasons newest gown styles. Hard to believe that we are already planning for the arrival of gown for 2013 weddings! First up, lets take a peek at the gorgeous collection by Modern Trousseau. Designer Callie Tein never disappoints, in fact many of us RUN to her showroom specifically to see her latest use of gorgeous lace…we can absolutely confirm that Hayden Olivia will have the most luxurious laces and silks in Charlotte constructed in stunning silhouettes for 2013. Modern Trousseau also hit the mark with full organza skirts, a few minis, and spectacular belts to accessorize. Gowns will begin arriving within the week and our late spring trunk show is in May- a weekend to view the entire new collection!

Mandie Miller, owner of Got What It Cakes, has graciously been providing us with cupcakes on Saturdays here at Hayden Olivia… and we just can’t get enough of them! Although Mandie designs custom cakes for all occasions, wedding cakes are her specialty. Check out some of her gorgeous creations below. The most exciting part is that they taste just as good as they look! The newest collection to come to life under the JLM Couture umbrella is the Hayley Paige label. Ms. Paige has a impressive background in the bridal industry with previous experience designing for both the Melissa Sweet bridal and bridesmaid lines as well as working as the primary designer behind the first Marchesa Eterna bridal collection at Priscilla of Boston. She now serves as head designer for both her own label as well as Blush by JLM Couture.

The Hayley Paige Collection was designed with a bit of an eclectic feel while ultimately weaving together romance, charm and sophistication into each and every gown. Each piece from her line is designed with a woman’s body in mind while incorporating a unique flair of femininity, whether it be subtle beading, textured silk petals or soft organza draping.
