Our dear blog has suffered over the past week- we have been busy with appointments, fittings and preparations for our trunk show.  We are gearing up for another full weekend…or we like to say, a beautiful mess of tulle and lace!  Hayden Olivia Bridal will welcome designer Callie Tein to the Queen City for our highly anticipated Modern Trousseau trunk show.  Appointments are already limited however we will do our very best to accommodate all lovely brides who inquire!  See you this weekend!

During the dog days of summer, I can’t help but be inspired by bright colors!  A favorite palate of mine includes bright coral, grapefruit, turquoise and hues of blue.  How do you incorporate these into your wedding?  Maids look fantastic in bright colors as long as the fabric of the dresses is also fantastic- nothing too shiny…go for chiffon or a soft forgiving fabric that has movement on the body.  The maids could wear bright necklaces- a huge fan of chunky necklaces for a bit of drama!  The guys always look great in a bright tie- often brings out the eyes!   For all of my daring brides- pop a bright nail color on for your big day, wrap your bouquet in a pattern, send colorful save the dates…the ideas are endless and we are here to help you pull together a styled look.

With almost 5 years of experience in dressing brides and providing the most on trend and stylish options available, we are often asked, “Is this too trendy?”  We are also asked, “Will I look back in 20 years and think ugh, what was I thinking?”  Our answer to these questions is NO!  There is a fine line between stylish and just plain over the top- the gown we might see in an editorial piece in a magazine that impacts us enough to think, “who would wear that?”  Here are a few trends for 2013 that are classic and beautiful, yet on trend and stylish.

I have always thought it very brave to plan a large life event on a holiday or holiday weekend.  Will most guests invited come to the wedding?  Will vendors be available?  How much of the holiday should I incorporate into my event?  All of these questions come to mind.  Well…the answer to all of my questions are yes, yes, and here are fantastic was to incorporate details of the holiday…4th of July goodness below.  I’m thinking seersucker inspiration with pops of RED!
